Save reels-downloader-firefox-1.0.0.zip from this page. Firefox can load the packaged ZIP for temporary testing.

Open about:debugging
Enter about:debugging#/runtime/this-firefox in the address bar and select This Firefox.

Load Temporary Add-on
Select Load Temporary Add-on and choose the downloaded ZIP, or choose manifest.json from the extracted folder.

Open or refresh instagram.com, visit a Reel or post, and use the Download button added to the page.

Local processing and Firefox permissions

Why this download is temporary
Standard Firefox requires extensions installed permanently to be signed by Mozilla. The ZIP on this page is provided for transparent testing through about:debugging and is removed when Firefox restarts. The unsigned XPI is prepared for Mozilla Add-ons submission, not promoted as an end-user permanent install. After Mozilla signs the release, this page can link to the signed AMO package.

Can I install the ZIP permanently in Firefox?
Not until it is signed by Mozilla. You can load the ZIP temporarily from about:debugging for testing, but Firefox removes temporary add-ons when the browser restarts. Permanent users should install the signed release from Mozilla Add-ons once published.
Does the Firefox extension collect personal data?
No. Its Firefox manifest declares no data collection. Media identification and ZIP creation happen locally, and the add-on does not transmit passwords, browsing history or downloaded files to Reels Downloader servers.
Does it work with private Instagram content?
Only when the Instagram account already signed in to Firefox is authorized to view that content. The add-on uses the current browser session and does not bypass account privacy settings.
What happens when Firefox restarts?
A build loaded through Load Temporary Add-on is removed. Return to about:debugging and load the ZIP again, or wait for the Mozilla-signed release for permanent installation.
